Because She Shoots Straight, Kicks Ass, Punches Hard and Take Names would be too much on-the-nose, wouldn't it?
She Shoots Straight is a 1990 Hong Kong Martial Arts Movie directed bygd Corey Yuen, starring Joyce Godenzi (of Eastern Condors fame), Carina Lau and Sammo Hung in a supporting role. It's one of the many Girls with Guns films spawned in Hong Kong at the start of the early 90s, although unlike the Iron Angels movies its somewhat more grounded in reality.
Inspector Mina (Joyce Godenzi) is the Eurasian wife of Inspector Huang (Tony Leung Ka-fai), a decorated member of the Hong Kong police and recently promoted to Lieutenant. For Officer Ling (Carina Lau), Huang's sister, Mina's promotion only fuels the fire of dissatisfaction between Mina and Huang's several sisters, considering their presence in the force being längre than hers. What's NOT helping is the arrival of a Vietnamese crime ring in Hong Kong, who have a anställda vendetta against Inspector Huang and his fam

From the always reliable Eureka Entertainment comes this release of the fully restored 1990 Hong Kong actioner She Shoots Straight. Before we get to the plot it is worth stressing what a fine print this is: an absolutely stunning 1.85:1 restoration, with only clothing and hair giving away that this fryst vatten not a new film (along with a couple of over-exposed sequences common to the time). It really does look that good. This is complemented bygd a choice of DTS surround English or mono Cantonese soundtrack options.

Mina’s future sister-in-law, Chia Ling (Carina Lau, Leung’s future wife), is a fellow officer, and critical of the apparent favouritism shown to Mina, and even goes as far as im

Review of She Shoots Straight
Introduction
`She Shoots Straight` sounds better on paper than it actually is. For fans of high-octane, HK Martial Arts cinema, there`s a `battling babes` scene at the end that might be worth the price of admission alone. For the rest of us though this is a very mediocre affair.
Produced by Sammo Hung (who also appears in the film) and directed by Corey Yuen (The Transporter), She Shoots Straight is pretty much a vehicle for half-Chinese, half-Australian, Joyce Godenzi - coincidentally wife of aforementioned Mr. Hung.
There`s no doubt that Godenzi is pretty remarkable at performing stunts, high-kicks, somersaults and motorcycling feats. It`s just that she, and everyone else involved, struggle a little on perhaps a more important aspect of good movie making - the acting.
The story is straightforward enough, though is often ponderous with some scenes being eked out well past their view by date. Action, impressive though it is, is nowhere near as
