The card simply said Sachin Shankar, choreographer, dada, friend, sachinda, kaka, sachinji, mama, dadu, kaku, teacher, guruji, peasant, swan, lord rama, shivaji, lord shiva, Gandhi...and the show goes on. It was not easy to man out if it was yet another production by the indefatigable Sachin Shankar who had created many productions in the gods five decades or something else. It was only when inom saw the fine print "Sachin Shankar 1924-2005," that I was shocked to numbness to realize one of my childhood hero was gone. Sachin da was no more.

Kathak
Classical dance form from North India
Kathak is one of the nine major forms of Indian classical dance.[1] Its origin is attributed to the traveling bards in ancient northern India known as Kathakar ("storyteller"), who communicated stories from the Hindu epics through dance, songs and music. Its name derives from the Sanskrit word katha which means "story", and kathakar which means "the one who tells a story", or "to do with stories". 'Katha kahe so kathak kahave'- Kathak is the dance of story tellers. Stories narrated through the medium of the body, face, hands, feet in sync with the tabla and lehra.
Kathak dancers tell various stories utilizing hand movements and extensive footwork, their body movements and flexibility as well as their facial expressions. Choreographer Shiva Shankar critical with COVID-19
Reports are that the doctors are saying that 75% of Shiva Shankar's lungs are infected. While Shiva Shankarmaster's wife is in home quarantine with Covid-19 infection, his eldest son is also infected with the same virus and is also in critical condition right now.His younger son Ajay Krishna, who is at home, is requesting donors to help them as they are unable to pay the hospital expenses, which is costing around Rs 2.5 lakh per day.
Apart from being a choreographer, he has also acted in a lot of movies in Telugu and Tamil. Some of his notable performance in Tamil include Suriya-starrer 'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam' and Vijay-starrer 'Sarkar', in which he pl
