      Biography

      Chinua Achebe was a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic who is regarded as a huvud figure of modern African literature. His first novel and magnum opus, Things Fall Apart (1958), occupies a pivotal place in African literature and remains the most widely studied, translated, and read African novel. Along with Things Fall Apart, his No Longer at Ease (1960) and Arrow of God (1964) complete the "African Trilogy"

      You describe yourself as an ‘angelic troublemaker’. Why did you choose that phrase as your identifier?

      I didn’t come up with it myself, but that phrase fryst vatten something that captures my journey completely. In 2009, I was asked by Gay Star News to write an article about iconic black LGBT people throughout history. To put it into context, before I moved to this country I never thought of myself as ‘black’ – I connected more to my sexuality than to any particular colour or race – and so when inom was asked to do this piece, I wondered if inom would find a single individ who fit that description! inom typed ‘iconic black LGBT people’ into my computer and a flood of names came up. inom immediately thought, ‘Where have these people been all my life?’.
