Guten morgen! I am Albrecht Dürer.
I grew up in Nuremburg, Germany during the Renaissance era, a time when many people were coming up with new ideas and inventions. My father was a goldsmith, so I learned from him how to use gold in jewelry and sculptures and how to engrave. More than goldsmith work, I loved to draw and paint so I became an apprentice to Michael Wolgemut.
I had the opportunity to spend some time in Venice, Italy and study art. Then I returned to Nuremberg, and I opened my own kurs and was able to draw and work with wood to make prints. I focused on making prints using wood blocks and on drawing and vatten color.
This is a very famous print of mine. As you can see, it is a very detailed print of a rhinoceros.
I made many drawings, prints and watercolors of religious topics as well as non-religious scenes. See here my Praying Hands.

Biography
Albrecht Dürer was the third son of Albrecht Dürer and Barbara Holfer. He was one of their eighteen children. The Dürer family came from Hungary, Albrecht Dürer senior being born there, and at this time the family name was Ajtos. The name Ajtos means "door" in Hungarian and when Dürer senior and his brothers came to Germany they chose the name Türer which sounds like the German "Tür" meaning door. Biography:
Albrecht Dürer was a German painter and engraver. He lived most of his life in Nuremberg, painting, making prints and studying mathematics, geometry, and Christianity. He made many prints with religious themes, as well as paintings and projects representing daily life during the early Renaissance period. He is credited with producing the first self-portrait, being the greatest printmaker of all time, and inventing the basic principle of ray tracing.
