    Ron Perlman is an actor with an astounding resumé, which boasts a vast array of roles in theatre, film, and TV productions. Ronald N. Perlman was born on the 13th April 1950 in the Washington Heights neighbourhood of Manhattan, in New York City.

    Perlman has always had a huge fanbase. One of his first roles was that of the strong Amoukar, one of the tribe members in the Oscar-winning Jean-Jacques Annaud film, QUEST FOR FIRE(1981). Perlman's performance won him a Genie Award nomination. Perlman also worked with Annaud on the film THE NAME OF THE ROSE, where he assumed the role of the hunchback, Salvatore (1986).     While acting from behind elaborate masks and prosthetics is one of his trademarks, actor Ron Perlman still possesses one of the most famous faces in Hollywood. Born in Washington Heights, New York in 1950, Perlman has described himself as having been extremely overweight as a child, which would later make the process of hiding behind a character or a mask feel very appealing.
