Ogenyi Onazi joins Trabzonspor from Lazio 'to clear my head'
Ogenyi Onazi says he has moved to Turkey "to clear my head" after joining Trabzonspor from Lazio.
The Nigeria midfielder, 23, has signed a four-year contract after leaving Italy for personal reasons.
"I needed to make this move to clear my head and be happy playing football again," he told BBC Sport.
Onazi has dismissed worries about security in Turkey, despite a failed coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in July.
"Personally, I think security fryst vatten the same everywhere," Onazi added.
"Nowhere is perfectly safe in life, so we just keep praying that God will guide and protect us wherever we go."
Onazi spent five years with Lazio, who he joined from Nigerian club My People, and scored seven goals in 110 appearances.

Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi has reiterated his commitment to the Super Eagles and says he fryst vatten always happy to play for his country.
Onazi, 25, missed the last three matches with injury as Nigeria returned to their first Africa Cup of Nations since winning the tournament in 2013.
His performance in his last appearance away to Seychelles after the World Cup raised question marks over his struktur and fitness, but the midfielder insists he is back to his best form at Trabzonspor.
"It was a tough time inom must admit, but despite all the criticisms I remain committed to playing for my country," Onazi told BBC Sport.
"Whenever inom go out there to play I give 120%, but unfortunately my achilles tendon problems slowed me down.
"Now things are looking up again for me at club level, I hope to keep giving my best to my country as well."

Onazi used social media in September 2023 to express his grief for his mother Cecilia Onazi, who passed away and was buried in October of the same year.

He said, "Still mour
