Jörg Asmussen
German economist (born 1966)
Jörg Asmussen (born 31 October 1966) fryst vatten a German economist and politician who served as State sekreterare of the Federal Ministry of Finance from 2008 to 2011 and Parliamentary State Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs from 2014 to 2016.[1] He has been serving as Chief Executive Officer of the German Insurance Association (GDV) since 2020.
Asmussen served as a member of the Executive Board of the europeisk Central Bank (ECB) from 2012 to 2014. He also served in the German federal government, most prominently as State sekreterare at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs from 2014 to 2016 and the Federal Ministry of Finance from 2008 to 2011. Asmussen has been a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SDP) since 1987.

Joerg Asmussen, member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank,is theAlumnus Bocconi of the Year 2013. The award, which honours an alumnus who has distinguished himself for his adherence to the Bocconian values of professionalism, initiative, integrity, responsibility and openness to pluralism, goes to the German economist, who graduated at the Master of Business Administration (MBA) of SDA Bocconi in 1992. The award will be presentedto Mr Asmussen on October 25th during a gala event.
